TL;DR
Software Engineer: Infrastructure and Tools (Robotics/AI infrastructure): Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, build systems, monitoring tools, and deployment frameworks for field-ready robotic AI systems with an accent on reliability, observability, automation, and fault tolerance. Focus on designing scalable infrastructure, automating provisioning with infrastructure-as-code, and troubleshooting performance, uptime, and security issues on real hardware deployments.

Location: Irvine, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $125,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, build systems, monitoring tools, and deployment frameworks.
  • Develop scalable solutions for service reliability, observability, performance, and fault tolerance.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize infrastructure for high availability.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Ansible or similar tools and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve uptime, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain best practices in system design, security, and code quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
  • Strong programming or scripting skills in Python, TypeScript, or similar languages.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging systems, networking, Linux, and security best practices.

Nice to have

  • Experience with robotics infrastructure, ROS, real-time systems, or sensor integration.
  • Exposure to distributed systems and microservices architectures.
  • Background in site reliability engineering practices.
