Senior Software Engineer (AI Model Lifecycle)

Location: On-site in San Francisco or Sunnyvale, California, United States

Salary: $172,425–$230,945 annually plus bonus; restricted stock units included.

What you will do

• Build a managed platform covering the full application development lifecycle for machine learning models and large language models.
• Manage fine-tuning systems for large foundation models using SFT, PEFT, LoRA, and adapters.
• Develop multi-node orchestration, checkpointing, failure recovery, and cost-efficient scaling capabilities.
• Implement end-to-end LLM training, distillation, reinforcement learning, and reinforcement fine-tuning pipelines.
• Build dataset, model, and experiment management with versioning, lineage, evaluation, and reproducible fine-tuning.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–5+ years of industry experience leading impactful AI projects.
• Experience with generative AI, large language models, and multimodal models.
• Hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, and aligning LLMs with reinforcement learning and reinforcement fine-tuning techniques.
• Proactive, collaborative, and autonomous approach to solving challenging technical problems.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Golang or Python for large-scale production services and PyTorch.
• Contributions to open-source AI projects such as vLLM or similar frameworks.
• Experience optimizing performance on GPU systems and inference frameworks.
