Senior Manager of Network & Cloud Architecture

Location: On-site in San Francisco, Bellevue, or Sunnyvale, United States

Salary: $250,000–$300,000 annually plus bonus and restricted stock units

What you will do

• Lead company-wide architecture strategy across edge points of presence, backbone transport, data center fabrics, and SDN/cloud platforms.
• Arbitrate cross-domain tradeoffs involving backbone capacity, data center bandwidth, SDN overlays, latency, and throughput for AI/HPC workloads.
• Establish engineering standards, reference architectures, design reviews, and final approval processes for major network architecture decisions.
• Set strategic direction for peering, IX participation, BGP, MPLS, segment routing, optical transport, redundancy, and multi-region network design.
• Guide spine-leaf fabrics, RoCEv2/InfiniBand interconnects, high-density GPU cluster networking, Kubernetes networking, and customer-facing cloud constructs.
• Lead a multi-team organization and partner with Product, Hardware, Infrastructure, and executive stakeholders on roadmaps, execution, and outage remediation.

Requirements

• 12+ years of network engineering or architecture experience, including 5+ years managing highly skilled individual contributors.
• Experience leading network architecture at hyperscale, including environments with 1,000+ switches across multiple campuses or regions.
• Deep expertise across edge, backbone, data center fabric, and SDN/cloud networking domains.
• Strong command of SDN controllers, Kubernetes CNIs, network virtualization, and overlays.
• Experience setting multi-year technical strategy, influencing VP and C-level stakeholders, and building senior engineering organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Senior leadership experience at a hyperscaler, AI cloud provider, HPC center, or large-scale colocation operator.
• Experience supporting multi-node GPU training infrastructure at scale.
• Familiarity with SONiC OS, P4 programmable data planes, Batfish, or Minesweeper.
• Open-source networking contributions involving SONiC, FRR, OVS/OVN, Cilium, or NetBox.
• CCIE DC/SP or JNCIE certification.
