Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Santa Clara, California; open to other locations within the US or Canada

Salary: $190,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity and bonus opportunities

What you will do

• Architect and develop a kernel authoring SDK targeting the Corsair dataflow architecture.
• Design domain-specific APIs and define interfaces for kernel developers and compiler teams.
• Create development tools for kernel authoring and modeling lowering flows.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and rigorous code review practices.
• Analyze complex hardware-software interactions and implement end-to-end solutions.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers while owning requirements, design, implementation, debugging, and deployment.

Requirements

• MS degree in Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with 8 years of industry experience, or a PhD with 4 years of industry experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python development in Linux environments.
• Experience driving CI/CD integration, continuous testing, and comprehensive code reviews.
• Deep understanding of computer architecture, data structures, system software, and machine learning fundamentals.
• Experience designing scalable APIs and SDKs with an end-to-end systems engineering mindset.
• Strong ownership, leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience writing and optimizing high-performance kernels for GPUs, TPUs, or custom ML accelerators.
• High-Performance Computing experience with distributed workloads and resource optimization.
• Experience with ML compilers and intermediate representations or frameworks such as MLIR, LLVM, TVM, or Glow.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools, startup or incubation experience, or work at a cloud or AI computing company.
