Architect (AI/SoC)

Location: Hybrid in Santa Clara, California, United States

Salary: $175,000–$265,000 annually, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Lead the definition, design, and delivery of SoC requirements and architecture.
• Analyze transformer, CNN, and other AI workloads to identify bottlenecks and architectural opportunities.
• Drive hardware-software co-design across SIMD engines, control planes, data reshape and conversion blocks, NoC substrates, memory, interconnects, packaging, and thermal management.
• Develop performance projections, high-level and cycle-accurate models, performance correlations, and performance debugging for current and next-generation products.
• Develop architectural exploration and simulation tools, contribute to kernel development and networking fabric enhancements, and collaborate with software teams on stack milestones.
• Port and optimize customer workloads, create reference implementations, evaluate performance, and contribute to technical publications and intellectual property.

Requirements

• MS in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, with 5+ years of relevant experience in compute architecture and system design.
• 5+ years of experience leading SoC architecture or design development.
• Expert knowledge of AI SoC architecture, requirements, and definition.
• Experience with CPU, GPU, ASIC, and ML accelerator architecture exploration and modeling.
• High proficiency in performance modeling, algorithm analysis, data structures, and Python programming.
• Deep knowledge of machine learning and deep learning, including CNN, RNN, and Transformer architectures.

Nice to have

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience with specialized hardware accelerator systems for deep neural networks.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
