Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Home based in the UK, with occasional travel to the London office

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery within an autonomous engineering pod, from discovery and problem framing through production, iteration, and outcome measurement.
• Work with curriculum, operations, and delivery stakeholders to identify root problems and shape effective solutions.
• Contribute to proposals, technical decision records, discovery discussions, and engineering practice improvements.
• Use AI tooling for prototyping, agentic coding, and accelerating software delivery.
• Maintain high engineering standards through test-driven development, disciplined code reviews, and a strong focus on quality.
• Coach less experienced engineers and raise the standard of problem-solving across the pod.

Requirements

• Full-stack capability, or strong expertise in one direction combined with genuine competence in the other.
• Experience owning the full delivery lifecycle, including solution design, production, and iteration.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, including test-driven development, code review, and demonstrable commitment to quality.
• Active experience with AI-assisted development, prototyping, and agentic coding.
• Strong written communication and the ability to contribute to discovery conversations and technical decisions.
• Ability to work effectively with ambiguity, make decisions with incomplete information, and communicate issues early.

Nice to have

• Professional experience with Python, React, or Vue.
• Experience in EdTech, regulated industries, or other complex domains.
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining monitored AI systems in production.
