Accounting Leader (SEC Reporting)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; on-site. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to San Jose.

What you will do

• Own stock-based compensation accounting, equity reconciliations, EPS and dilution calculations, and equity-related SEC disclosures.
• Coordinate with Payroll, Legal, and Stock Administration to reconcile equity systems, the cap table, and the general ledger.
• Lead preparation and filing of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, financial statement footnotes, MD&A, XBRL tagging, and other SEC reporting.
• Partner with external auditors, maintain SOX controls, and assess new accounting standards and SEC requirements.
• Lead implementation and optimization of Workiva or a similar reporting platform while automating manual workflows.
• Research and document technical accounting positions for complex transactions and non-routine matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA required or actively pursuing.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant SEC reporting exposure.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and XBRL.
• Hands-on experience with equity accounting, including stock-based compensation, EPS, and APIC roll-forwards.
• Experience with Workiva or comparable disclosure-management software, advanced Excel, and ERP systems such as NetSuite.

• Big 4 public accounting experience.
• Experience with Carta, Shareworks, Equity Edge, Fidelity, or Solium.
• Experience leading system implementation or process improvement initiatives.
• Experience in a high-growth or newly public company environment.
• Strong project management skills across multiple close-period deadlines.
