Java Backend Engineer

Location: USA, fully remote

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency backend applications for mission-critical systems.
• Build REST-based backend services and scalable microservice architectures.
• Work with the Bots & Automation team to build a next-generation bot runtime platform.
• Debug production issues, maintain existing code, and improve application performance.
• Create technical specifications and documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience building production software systems.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot programming skills, including multithreading.
• Expertise with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Cassandra and MySQL.
• Experience with REST APIs, distributed microservices, third-party integrations, and production debugging.
• Experience with Kafka, Airflow, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Git, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.

Nice to have

• Experience with Node.js, Python, GCP, or AWS.
