Principal Software Engineer (Ads)

Location: Must be based in or able to work from New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Sunnyvale, CA

Salary: $268,600 — $395,000 USD

What you will do

• Serve as the technical lead for the Ads organization, defining architectural vision and long-term strategy.
• Drive alignment across Machine Learning, Infrastructure, Product, and Data Science teams.
• Define patterns, principles, and standards for designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Mentor engineers to raise the bar on technical excellence and systems thinking.
• Solve complex distributed systems challenges hands-on while maintaining director-level scope.

Requirements

• 12+ years of industry experience with a proven track record of leading large-scale platform initiatives.
• Deep expertise in building and scaling platform systems that serve as the foundation for product experiences.
• Meaningful experience in ads, commerce, or marketplace platforms.
• Ability to operate at director-level scope, driving technical strategy and communicating with executive stakeholders.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
