Software Engineer, Ad-Tech

Location: New York, New York, United States; office-first culture with a hybrid working model determined by role and location. Occasional travel may be required.

Salary: $170,000–$210,000 USD annualized, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and evolve robust data platforms, backend systems, services, and storage patterns.
• Influence architectural decisions, define APIs and system boundaries, and set engineering standards.
• Improve performance, scalability, reliability, and operability across critical systems.
• Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders on technical direction.
• Investigate complex production issues, lead root-cause analysis, and implement preventative improvements.
• Mentor engineers and promote code quality, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Rust, Kotlin, and TypeScript.
• Experience with architectural patterns and scalable systems.
• Ability to solve complex problems and make sound technical decisions in ambiguous situations.
• Excellent communication skills, including explaining technical concepts and mentoring engineers.
• Experience with large-scale data and distributed systems.
• Experience with containers, cloud-native environments, TDD, and specification-driven development.

Nice to have

• Fluency with agentic frameworks and AI-driven software development workflows.
• Experience with AdTech solutions for SSPs and DSPs.
