Shift Supervisor, On-Road Operations (Overnight) (AI and Robotics)

Location: California - San Francisco, United States. The role requires a flexible schedule, including nights, evenings, and weekends.

Salary: $80,180-$108,240 annual base pay, plus an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and manage a team of approximately 20 autonomous vehicle operators.
• Run interviews and onboarding for new hires in partnership with the Learning and Development team.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, feedback, training oversight, and performance reviews.
• Manage start-of-shift and end-of-shift activities, including attendance, software burns, data importing, and operator equipment preparation.
• Coordinate with planning teams on training readiness, feature rollouts, weekly goals, allocation strategy, and operator availability.
• Respond to operator and onsite incidents, review performance deviations, and lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience managing teams with 10 or more direct reports, including hiring, performance management, coaching, or mentoring.
• Understanding of US labor, employment, and driving laws.
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, data-review, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support operational needs.
• Excitement about robots, AI, and robotics development tools.
• Ability to work nights, evenings, weekends, and other flexible schedules required by the business.

Nice to have

• At least 4 years of experience managing large teams of 15 or more direct reports.
• At least 2 years of experience in the autonomous vehicle or delivery industry.
