Software Development Engineer II (Java) - Identity

Location: Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom; hybrid with 60% of the week at office locations or local sites and the remainder remote

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-performing, mission-critical authentication systems.
• Develop APIs that securely authenticate customers across online, telephone, and in-store touchpoints.
• Translate customer and business requirements into technical solutions with product managers.
• Build test-driven features and support continuous integration and delivery across the software lifecycle.
• Support production systems, resolve incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers within the wider engineering community.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in a major programming language, preferably Java, and the related ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience building and supporting production Java applications.
• Understanding of SOLID principles and maintainable software design.
• DevOps mindset with experience supporting production systems, resolving incidents, and performing root cause analysis.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team.

Nice to have

• Understanding of identity and access management concepts such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
