Software Engineer (TechOps)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with attendance in the office 3 days per week

What you will do

• Design, operate, manage, and refine research, development, and production cloud infrastructure.
• Work with GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Kapitan, and related infrastructure tools.
• Develop tools and processes that improve software development practices and lifecycle management.
• Contribute to decisions about tooling, infrastructure, and architectural design.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, machine learning researchers, product, business development, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Docker, Terraform, and at least one major cloud platform.
• Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters and a clear understanding of Infrastructure as Code.
• Extensive experience with modern DevOps, including CI/CD, release management, and automation.
• Experience with Helm, Kustomize, Kapitan, or similar deployment tools, plus Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or similar observability technologies.
• Strong Python programming skills and the ability to independently deliver solutions in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work from the London office 3 days per week as part of the hybrid model.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and machine learning cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with GitHub Actions.
• Strong software engineering foundations before moving into technical operations.
• Experience identifying and mitigating security risks.
