Lead DevOps Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes/AI): Designing, automating, and supporting low-latency trading infrastructure and business-critical financial systems across cloud and on-premises environments with an accent on reliability, scalability, security, and observability. Focus on building resilient CI/CD pipelines, automating hybrid infrastructure, solving complex deployment and networking issues, and implementing secure AI-enabled operational capabilities.

Location: Hybrid role based in London, United Kingdom, with in-person collaboration as needed.

What you will do

• Lead the design and evolution of scalable, secure, highly available trading infrastructure across AWS and on-premises environments.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship while contributing hands-on to DevOps, platform engineering, automation, and infrastructure initiatives.
• Build CI/CD pipelines for Java and Python applications and automate provisioning, deployment, configuration, database, and operational workflows.
• Support production systems through incident response, disaster recovery, vulnerability management, patching, change management, and performance troubleshooting.
• Improve containerized deployments, observability, reliability, and infrastructure-as-code practices using Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, and related tools.
• Develop secure AI-enabled capabilities for infrastructure automation, observability, incident response, and operational workflows.

Requirements

• Hands-on technical leadership experience with mentoring, Agile delivery, Jira, prioritization, and cross-functional stakeholder communication.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, scripting, and programming skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins or GitLab, containers, artifact publishing, infrastructure as code, and configuration management.
• Knowledge of networking, routing, high availability, resiliency, capacity, latency, monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Hands-on AWS and hybrid cloud experience, including EC2, ALB, S3, RDS/Aurora, EFS, Kubernetes, and preferably EKS; Azure experience is a plus.
• Experience supporting financial systems, trading or market data platforms, low-latency infrastructure, and unicast or multicast networking.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS EKS, Azure, and AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
• Relevant AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, RHCE, Agile, or ITIL certifications.
