Autonomous Vehicle Operator (Automotive AI)

Location: Onsite in South San Francisco, California; the first two weeks of training are in Santa Clara, California. Morning shifts run from 6:00am to 2:30pm PT, with schedules covering Fri–Tue or Thu–Mon.

Salary: $27 per hour, paid biweekly, plus weekend differential and a potential discretionary biannual contract completion bonus.

What you will do

• Operate autonomous test vehicles in manual and autonomous modes for up to eight hours per day in varied traffic conditions.
• Use proprietary software to collect real-world data and provide accurate operational feedback to engineers.
• Monitor safety and navigation systems while maintaining situational awareness and following driving protocols.
• Troubleshoot operational issues in real time and coordinate with the Mission Operations team to meet mileage targets.
• Perform vehicle inspections and basic maintenance, including washing vehicles and checking tire pressure.
• Interact with the public and support professional ridealongs for executives, investors, stakeholders, and engineers.

Requirements

• Current valid California driver's license and at least three years of possession of a US driver's license.
• Clean driving record; ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Ability to work reliably five days per week on an assigned morning shift.
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and time management skills.
• Comfort using laptops, tablets, smartphones, and online collaboration platforms such as Slack or Google Meet.
• Ability to remain focused and adaptable while working independently or in small groups without direct supervision.
