Relationship Director (Manufacturing)

Location: Bishop’s Stortford, United Kingdom; hybrid working with at least one day per week or 20% of working time at the office

What you will do

• Manage and grow a portfolio of SME clients across Essex and Hertfordshire, primarily in manufacturing and engineering.
• Provide lending solutions including term loans, working capital, invoice finance, hire purchase, and trade finance.
• Offer deposits and other banking services while expanding the bank’s proposition with existing clients.
• Acquire higher-value new client relationships and develop business opportunities in the local market.
• Represent the group in the professional community and support regional goals and client experience improvements.
• Act as an ambassador for change and adopt digital tools that improve client and colleague experiences.

Requirements

• Results-focused approach with personal accountability for client outcomes.
• Strong ability to build productive relationships with external professionals and win new clients.
• Specialist credit and sector knowledge, with experience identifying opportunities to grow income, balance sheet, and market share.
• Strong risk management skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to anticipating risks.
• Growth mindset and willingness to use tools that enhance the client experience.
