Sr/Principal Simulator Engineer – Simulator Developer (AI)

hirify.global is recruiting for a well-funded, stealth-mode startup developing AI inference hardware and software platforms for data center-scale deployments.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain functional and performance processor simulators.
• Build detailed models of pipelines, memory hierarchies, interconnects, and hardware accelerators.
• Generate and curate traces for performance analysis and architectural evaluation.
• Analyze simulation results to guide architecture decisions and system optimization.
• Collaborate with hardware, architecture, and compiler engineering teams in a hardware-software co-design environment.
• Own simulation infrastructure from initial concept through production deployment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in systems software, computer architecture, or EDA.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience developing processor simulators, architectural models, or performance analysis tools from the ground up.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture and microarchitecture.
• Experience with AI accelerators, GPUs, or heterogeneous computing systems.
• Background in hardware-software co-design or compiler technologies.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with gem5, gem5-SALAM, or proprietary architectural modeling tools.
• Experience taking ownership in an early-stage startup environment.
