Senior Backend Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Salary

Base Salary: $170,000 – $196,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop containerized microservices for a distributed multi-tenant system processing real-time cloud data and network telemetry.
• Design service architecture, defend designs, and deliver high-quality implementations.
• Mentor junior engineers, new graduates, and interns to foster growth and productivity.
• Write code primarily in Go and work with data pipelines using SQL and other interfaces.
• Own critical features and the entire software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment and customer usage.
• Manage operational aspects of the system to improve software supportability and reliability.
• Ensure code quality through early developer testing and functional/integration testing.
• Collaborate with Product Management to refine requirements and exceed customer expectations.
• Develop a deep understanding of customer problems through stakeholder interaction.

Requirements

• Location: Must work on-site in Sunnyvale, California, USA
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 4+ years of experience building distributed and scalable software systems.
• Proficiency in Go and SQL; experience with REST API clients.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP at the API/programming level.
• Experience delivering containerized services on Kubernetes is desired.
• General TCP/IP networking knowledge and Unix/Linux programming environment experience.
• Experience with networking and security controls is a plus.
• Compliance with U.S. export controls is required for this position.

Nice to have

• Experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible.
