Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: On-site in Sunnyvale, United States

Salary: $170,000–$196,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop containerized microservices and supporting components for a distributed, multi-tenant system.
• Process real-time events, cloud telemetry, and network or asset data to provide security insights and recommendations.
• Write primarily Java and Spring Boot code and work with Kafka, SQL, REST APIs, and other interfaces.
• Own critical features and subsystems across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements clarification through deployment and customer usage.
• Operate services in a Kubernetes-based infrastructure and improve their usability, supportability, quality, and resilience.
• Partner with Product Management and mentor junior engineers, new graduates, and interns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
• 5+ years of experience building distributed and scalable software systems.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot or Golang.
• Programming-level experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with containerized services, Unix/Linux programming environments, TCP/IP networking, and REST API clients.
• Ability to work on-site in Sunnyvale and comply with applicable U.S. export controls for software and technology access.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience with networking and security controls.
• CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible experience.
