AI Residency (Robotics)

What you will do

• Apply research-level AI and robotics ideas to production capabilities and infrastructure for real robots.
• Build and improve data-engine components, including log review and labeling tools, data-cleaning systems, and evaluation benchmarks.
• Develop scalable pipelines and systems that improve through fleet and robot experience.
• Prototype, test, and deploy new capabilities or infrastructure improvements to robots at customer sites.
• Own projects, ship code, and collaborate with full-time engineers and researchers during the residency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; graduate study in machine learning or robotics is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with large Python codebases, test writing, and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Ability to prototype ideas independently through projects, research, or open-source work.
• Experience training large-scale machine learning models, including visual foundation models, LLMs, or generative models, or publishing at top machine learning conferences.
• Availability for a fixed-term, on-site 3–6 month residency in San Carlos, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with systems programming and scalable data infrastructure.
• Familiarity with robotics simulation platforms such as Isaac Sim or MuJoCo, or robot middleware such as ROS.
• Research or engineering experience at the intersection of AI and physical systems.
