What you will do

• Set and evolve research direction for core AI intelligence including context representation, memory, reasoning, planning, and orchestration.
• Decide on designing new model architectures or leveraging frontier open-source/commercial models.
• Define evaluation frameworks measuring real-world usefulness, robustness, safety, and long-term behavior.
• Own alignment, safety, and guardrail strategies as product priorities.
• Guide exploration of advanced AI techniques such as retrieval-augmented training, mixture-of-experts, distillation, multi-agent orchestration, and multimodal systems.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to shape early product intelligence direction.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in the United States
• Deep experience building or evolving real machine learning systems in production.
• Strong technical judgment on model behavior, failure modes, and long-horizon trade-offs.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch or JAX, and GPU-based training/inference systems.
• High ownership mentality and ability to make high-impact decisions with incomplete information.
