Director - Technical Accounting & General Ledger

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Salary: $190,000–$250,000 USD base salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the accounting policy function and serve as the primary subject matter expert on US GAAP and applicable IFRS.
• Research complex transactions, prepare technical accounting memos, and support accounting treatment for revenue, leases, equity compensation, business combinations, and debt or equity classification.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, and chart-of-accounts management.
• Monitor FASB and SEC developments, assess new standards, and maintain the accounting policy manual.
• Strengthen controls, improve accounting processes and automation, and coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Build team capacity and advise the Controller and CFO on accounting matters affecting financial results.

Requirements

• CPA qualification required.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting and industry experience.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP and experience authoring accounting memos and resolving complex issues with auditors.
• Proven ownership of a full-cycle close process at a company of meaningful scale.
• Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Proficiency with NetSuite, Excel, and reporting tools, together with strong written and verbal communication skills.
