Staff Engineer, Backend (AI)

Location: Remote, limited to candidates located in and eligible to work in the United States

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 base salary, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable backend systems using Go and modern technologies.
• Build end-to-end features across the stack, including frontend integration where needed.
• Own the full development lifecycle from system design and implementation through testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Apply best practices for code quality, performance optimization, reliability, and security.
• Work directly with customers to gather feedback and translate their needs into technical solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions and solve complex engineering problems.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and scaling reliable systems and high-quality products.
• Proficiency in Go or another server-side programming language.
• Familiarity with React and related libraries or frameworks.
• Experience with distributed systems, scaling architectures, databases, and data management.
• Familiarity with Git, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective communication and collaboration.
• Located in and eligible to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and unit or integration testing.
• Startup experience.
• Open-source contributions or side projects demonstrating technical skills.
