What you will do

• Design end-to-end data platform solutions covering ingestion, transformation, storage, semantic layers and consumption for BI/MI, analytics and operational use cases.
• Translate business outcomes into data product definitions, including scope, SLAs, controls, non-functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Embed data governance, security and privacy controls into solution designs.
• Provide design assurance through delivery, run architecture walkthroughs and support design governance and release readiness.
• Define integration approaches across APIs, events and file-based interfaces, including quality checks, reconciliation and control evidence.
• Develop reusable reference architectures and coach engineers and analysts on design practices and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

• Strong experience designing modern data platforms using lakehouse and warehouse patterns for batch and streaming use cases.
• Deep knowledge of cloud data services such as Azure, AWS and GCP, plus technologies including Snowflake, Databricks and Fabric.
• Strong data-modelling skills across conceptual, logical and physical designs, including semantic modelling for MI/BI.
• Knowledge of data ownership, lineage, metadata, access control and data quality frameworks.
• Strong non-functional design skills covering resilience, scalability, performance, cost optimisation, observability and operability.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and balance strategic architecture with pragmatic delivery.
