Roadway Engineering Designer

Location: Walnut Creek, California; hybrid work between an office and field environment

Salary: $70,000–$100,000 per year

What you will do

• Support transportation improvement projects involving local, county, and state roadway and highway design.
• Develop typical sections, alignments, profiles, layouts, and cross-sections.
• Prepare design documentation, plans, reports, and quantity calculations.
• Perform geometric analyses, engineering calculations, and estimates using established criteria and standard software.
• Collect and process topographic survey and right-of-way engineering data for design analysis.
• Monitor compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience.
• Experience supporting roadway and highway design projects.
• Ability to work between office and field environments, including occasional exposure to weather, noise, hazards, and bodies of water.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 35 pounds.
• Successful completion of applicable pre-employment substance screening and background checks.

Nice to have

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
