Roadway CAD Technician (Civil 3D)

What you will do

• Review roadway, drainage, traffic control, and utility plans, specifications, and engineering calculations.
• Prepare and revise roadway plans, profiles, cross-sections, corridor models, construction documents, and contract deliverables.
• Create and modify alignments, surfaces, corridors, and grading models using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Develop quantity calculations, plan sheets, exhibits, technical reports, erosion control plans, and signing and pavement marking layouts.
• Perform quality control reviews and coordinate with survey, drainage, utility, transportation, engineering, and project management teams.
• Support projects from conceptual planning through detailed design, permitting, and construction documentation.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Training in CAD, drafting, or design technology through coursework, certifications, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with transportation engineering, preferably TxDOT projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, or comparable platforms such as MicroStation or OpenRoads.
• Experience with plan production, drafting standards, and collaboration tools for municipal or transportation projects.
