Senior Energy Markets Analyst (Energy)

Location: Hybrid work based in the DMV area, between the Reston, Virginia office, home, and potentially client sites. U.S. citizenship is required.

Salary: $98,187–$166,919 annually for full-time employment.

What you will do

• Conduct research, analysis, technical writing, and reporting on energy market and infrastructure issues.
• Collect and analyze data for modeling and analytical projects covering electricity, petroleum, and natural gas.
• Create maps of energy infrastructure and dependencies and explain their implications.
• Monitor energy markets and regulatory bodies for developments affecting national infrastructure.
• Prepare analytical findings for internal and external clients and present conclusions verbally.
• Support multiple consulting projects involving infrastructure studies, market fundamentals, resource assessments, and economic analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, or a related subject.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience with electricity, petroleum, and natural gas markets or infrastructure.
• Experience with energy supply chains, electricity infrastructure, and fuels market dynamics.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Strong research, writing, quantitative, modeling, database management, and data analysis skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal settings and interact with clients.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, or a related subject.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of energy-sector dependencies and resilience initiatives.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and ArcGIS.
