Founding AI Engineer

Location: United States; listed arrangements include onsite positions in San Francisco, San Mateo, and the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as a remote position associated with Houston headquarters.

Salary: $250,000–$350,000 annually, plus equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Build production applications and systems powered by LLMs.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to measure model quality and behavior.
• Create automated testing and validation tools for AI systems.
• Build scalable ML infrastructure, services, and APIs.
• Run experiments and fine-tune modern language models to improve performance.
• Develop tools to identify weaknesses and failure modes, and ship reliable software across the full ML lifecycle.

Requirements

• Experience building and shipping production software systems.
• Hands-on experience with machine learning and LLMs.
• Experience evaluating, training, or fine-tuning modern language models.
• Strong Python engineering skills.
• Experience deploying ML systems into production.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into working solutions and make sound technical decisions with incomplete information.
