Filling & Packaging Expansion Transition Operator – A Shift (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Set up, start, operate, and change over designated legacy filling and packaging lines.
• Complete batch documentation and production records accurately and compliantly.
• Monitor equipment performance, identify abnormalities, and escalate issues to reduce downtime.
• Perform in-process quality checks and package products according to approved specifications, SOPs, and GMP requirements.
• Support line cleaning, batch clearance, reconciliation, equipment preparation, and housekeeping activities including 5S and GEMBA.
• Communicate during shift handovers and collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.

Requirements

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
• Packaging machinery certification obtained through OEM in-house training.
• Experience in a production, manufacturing, or regulated environment.
• Demonstrable understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and compliance requirements.
• Good practical and mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and accurate documentation skills.
• Ability to work the night shift and operate only designated legacy production assets.

Nice to have

• Recognised packaging qualification such as NVQ.
• Additional OEM packaging machinery certifications.
• Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
• Experience with high-speed packaging machinery and production performance targets.

Culture & Benefits

• Fixed-term contract linked exclusively to the Filling & Packaging Expansion Training Workstream.
• Contract expected to continue for up to 24 months and end when the workstream is completed.
• Responsibilities remain restricted to legacy filling and packaging lines.
• The role does not include training, qualification, deployment, or rostering on Lines 24, 25, 26, or associated expansion equipment.
• The position does not create an expectation of permanent employment after the project ends.
