Junior Technical Business Analyst

Location: D.C., Maryland, Virginia, United States; hybrid or remote, with remote employees required to come to the Reston, Virginia office as needed

Salary: $55,665–$94,631 per year

What you will do

• Support requirements, design, testing, and delivery throughout the software development cycle.
• Contribute to energy efficiency tracking and reporting tools for utility-sector projects.
• Gather and document business needs with stakeholders and project team members.
• Present task status and coordinate effectively with team members and program stakeholders.
• Identify process and technology improvement opportunities based on client procedures.
• Support user training, document system issues, and help resolve defects with developers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science, mathematics, information technology, computer science, or a related field.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Visio, Teams, PowerPoint, and Copilot.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple priorities, deliverables, and deadlines.
• Experience supporting requirements gathering, software testing, issue tracking, and project documentation.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, SharePoint, or Smartsheet.
• Ability to work with developers to verify that requirements are met and product quality is maintained.

Nice to have

• At least one year of IT experience.
• Exposure to utility, energy, or energy efficiency sectors.
• Consulting or client-facing experience.
• Experience with requirements, use case, or test case documentation.
