What you will do
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable SQL data transformation pipelines in BigQuery using Dataform.
- Support the migration of enterprise data warehouse workloads from Teradata to BigQuery by translating and validating data models and logic.
- Discover, document, and manage the central Common Data Model hub and support onboarding of consuming teams.
- Translate business KPI definitions into accurate, maintainable data model implementations.
- Drive testing, validation, reconciliation, documentation, and data quality practices across platforms.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted data products.
Requirements
- Professional experience as a senior Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or BI Engineer.
- Strong hands-on SQL skills, including complex transformations, analytical queries, and performance optimization.
- Practical Google Cloud Platform experience, particularly BigQuery, and hands-on experience with Dataform or a similar SQL-based transformation framework.
- Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, layered architectures, and hub-and-spoke or Common Data Model approaches.
- Experience with data quality testing, validation, and dataset reconciliation, plus the ability to connect business KPIs with data model implementations.
- Excellent English communication skills required, including communication of design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Teradata, BTEQ, or Teradata-to-BigQuery migration experience.
- Python experience for data processing, automation, or tooling.
- Experience with Cloud Composer or Airflow, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, or Dataplex.
- Familiarity with BI tools, data governance, cataloging, lineage, CI/CD, or infrastructure as code.
- Google Cloud certification such as Professional Data Engineer.
