Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance (Biotech)

Location: Menlo Park, California, United States; onsite Monday through Thursday and work from home on Friday

Salary: $112,000–$168,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead monthly forecasting and annual budgeting for general and administrative functions.
• Build and maintain operating expense models, analyze spending and headcount trends, and communicate financial risks and opportunities.
• Own quarterly and annual operating cash flow forecasts using the indirect method, including working capital and balance sheet assumptions.
• Review actual results against forecasts and budgets, prepare variance analysis, and support monthly close through accruals, reclassifications, and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports and materials for executive reviews, Board reporting, and quarterly business reviews.
• Develop ad hoc financial analysis and contribute to automation, scalability, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive FP&A, corporate accounting, or combined experience, preferably in life sciences, biotechnology, or technology.
• Strong understanding of operating expense management, forecasting, month-end close, financial statements, working capital, and balance sheet forecasting.
• Experience developing or supporting indirect-method cash flow forecasts and analyzing the impact of balance sheet activity on operating cash flow.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; SAP and planning tools such as Adaptive Insights or Anaplan are beneficial.
• Current authorization to work in the United States without present or future sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• CPA, CMA, or MBA.
• Experience in life sciences, biotechnology, or technology.
• Experience with Adaptive Insights or Anaplan.
