Staff Product Designer, Design System (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days per week at the San Jose HQ, California, USA

Base Pay Range: $1–$1 USD; excludes commission, bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Create and refine scalable design system components and patterns for consistent, efficient product experiences.
• Contribute to the design system end-to-end, including tokens, components, patterns, documentation, and governance.
• Use AI-powered tools such as Claude Code and Cursor to generate, iterate on, and launch live prototypes and products.
• Accelerate documentation and automate design-to-code handoff to shorten the path from concept to shipped pattern.
• Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Product Management, and other cross-functional teams on visual, interaction, and structural standards.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of Product Design experience, including 2+ years creating, scaling, and maintaining enterprise-grade design systems.
• Portfolio demonstrating component libraries, user guidelines, and successful design system adoption strategies.
• Experience partnering with engineering and design teams, mentoring others, and advocating for design principles and best practices.
• Fluency in design tokens, theming, WCAG accessibility, responsive design, front-end constraints, and implementation details.
• Extensive experience with Figma or comparable design software for component development.
• Active exploration and practical integration of AI tools into design workflows.

• Experience solving complex design challenges with scalable solutions aligned with user, technical, business, and product objectives.
• AI-powered tooling or automation for design system generation, documentation, workflows, or handoff.
• Experience designing systems for cybersecurity, infrastructure, developer tools, or other highly technical domains.
