Senior Software Engineer (Enterprise Operating System)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States. Relocation is provided, and travel is expected up to 15% of the time.

Base pay range for Washington applicants: $197,529.00–$276,539.55 annually. Other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

• Own the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for an enterprise operating system spanning MRP, production scheduling, engineering, repair, service, and customer data.
• Engage manufacturing operators, engineers, supply chain teams, service teams, and program stakeholders to define and prioritize product requirements.
• Document functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, system logic, and data structures for complex business processes.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, and analysts.
• Drive architectural trade-offs, backlog prioritization, iterative releases, and integrations across enterprise systems.
• Establish KPIs and adoption strategies to make the platform a trusted source of truth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, industrial/systems engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in software product management, business systems, or technical product leadership, including delivery of complex enterprise software.
• Experience leading or owning MRP, ERP, MES, or PLM systems in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Ability to translate BOMs, routings, scheduling, production planning, inventory, and repair/service workflows into system requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional influencing skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted U.S. refugee or asylee.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of relevant experience or a master’s degree.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing.
• Experience building a greenfield enterprise platform and working with SQL, APIs, relational databases, SAP, Oracle, or Siemens Teamcenter.
• Experience mentoring product managers or analysts; PMP, CPIM, product management, or ERP certifications.
