Bridge Engineering Designer (Civil Engineering)

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; hybrid work between office and field environments with construction-site visits as required.

What you will do

• Support the planning, analysis, design, rehabilitation, and construction of bridges and transportation structures.
• Assist with bridge inspections, condition assessments, load evaluations, field investigations, and repair recommendations.
• Prepare engineering calculations, design details, drawings, technical reports, and construction documents for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and overhead sign structures.
• Review shop drawings, contractor submittals, and RFIs, and provide field engineering support during construction.
• Develop quantity takeoffs, construction cost estimates, PS&E packages, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with roadway, geotechnical, hydraulic, traffic, environmental, contractors, owners, and project managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• 4+ years of experience.
• Ability to work between office and field environments, including occasional exposure to inclement weather, noise, hazards, and bodies of water.
• Ability to perform physical activities including sitting, standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 35 lbs.
• Successful completion of applicable pre-employment substance screening and background checks.
