Bridge Design Engineer (Transportation)

Location: Dallas, Texas; hybrid work between office and field environments

What you will do

• Lead and support structural and bridge design tasks within integrated engineering teams.
• Design and review highway and pedestrian bridges, culverts, retaining walls, overhead sign structures, and drainage infrastructure.
• Perform structural analysis, engineering calculations, load-rating evaluations, and design checks.
• Prepare and review plans, specifications, estimates, technical reports, and design summaries.
• Support conceptual studies, preliminary and final design, construction support, and project delivery.
• Coordinate with project managers, multidisciplinary colleagues, local governments, TxDOT, and clients; mentor junior staff and participate in presentations and proposals.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional civil or structural engineering experience focused on bridge design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with bridge design principles, methodologies, and current AASHTO LRFD standards.
• Strong knowledge of concrete and steel design.
• Proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads Designer or other MicroStation-based platforms and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in both office and field environments, including occasional exposure to inclement weather, hazards, noise, and bodies of water; occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Mathcad, Erickson Culvert, BGS, PGSuper, RISA, LEAP Bridge Suite, or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
