Traffic Engineering Designer

What you will do

• Develop traffic engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
• Design traffic control systems, including signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting, and work zone traffic control.
• Perform traffic engineering calculations and analyses in accordance with applicable standards, agency criteria, and client requirements.
• Coordinate traffic design activities with multidisciplinary project teams and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
• Support quality control reviews, schedule tracking, and coordination of traffic-related deliverables.
• Contribute to intersection, corridor, and multimodal traffic studies as they relate to design implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on transportation design.
• At least 2 years of directly related experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Civil 3D.
• Proficiency with Excel.
• Ability to work onsite in McAllen, Texas.
