Software Development Engineer, AWS AI Agentic Automated Reasoning (AR)

Location: Seattle, Washington, USA

Salary: $143,700–$194,400 USD annually, plus sign-on payments and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Design and implement components of a cloud-hosted automated reasoning platform, including query routing, solver orchestration, result caching, and soundness management.
• Build and operate distributed systems meeting high standards for availability, latency, correctness, and operational excellence.
• Evolve service APIs and help AWS customer teams integrate reasoning capabilities into their workflows.
• Collaborate with Automated Reasoning scientists to integrate solver improvements into production services.
• Participate in on-call rotations, monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Write clean, well-tested, production-quality software and investigate customer-reported integration issues.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience designing and scaling new and existing systems, including large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed applications.
• Experience with C#, C++, Java, or Perl and at least one programming language.
• Object-oriented design experience and a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience with design patterns, reliability, and system architecture.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
