Sr. Software Dev Engineer, Amazon Music Catalog

Salary: $168,100–$227,400 annually, plus sign-on payments and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Lead the technical direction, architecture, and design of major catalog and developer productivity features.
• Build scalable, high-performance systems for music rights and metadata ingestion, reconciliation, processing, and serving.
• Develop automation, APIs, and frameworks that improve developer workflows and reduce operational toil.
• Develop, deploy, and scale production GenAI and machine learning solutions, including LLMs running on GPUs, Neuron, TPU, or other AI acceleration hardware.
• Partner with Applied Scientists, Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, Principal Engineers, and engineering teams on roadmaps and technical decisions.
• Mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, present technical designs, and influence architecture across partner teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional, non-internship software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one programming language.
• 5+ years leading the design or architecture of reliable and scalable systems.
• Experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team lead.
• Experience developing and deploying LLMs in production on GPUs, Neuron, TPU, or other AI acceleration hardware.
• Knowledge of machine learning and LLM fundamentals, including architecture, training and inference lifecycles, and model execution optimization.

Nice to have

• 5+ years covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
