Manager, Infrastructure Capex Accounting (AI Infrastructure)

Location: San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA; hybrid policy requires staff to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

Annual salary: $160,000–$190,000 USD

What you will do

• Own end-to-end accounting for AI infrastructure capex and fixed assets, including monthly close, construction-in-progress tracking, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and flux analysis.
• Apply ASC 360 expertise to capitalization, useful lives, impairment, disposals, and asset retirement obligations.
• Partner with Data Center Operations, Legal, and Finance on infrastructure contracts and accounting implications.
• Improve upstream data pipelines covering asset receipt, deployment, and in-service dates.
• Design scalable systems, processes, controls, and automation for a growing fixed asset portfolio.
• Mentor junior accountants and coordinate with external auditors on capex and fixed asset matters.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in technology or infrastructure-heavy companies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of ASC 360 and hands-on experience with significant fixed asset portfolios.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large, complex datasets.
• Experience improving scalable financial processes and mentoring junior accounting professionals.
• Ability to explain technical accounting concepts and financial implications to non-finance stakeholders and collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams.

Nice to have

• Experience at hyperscalers, large compute consumers, or data center operators.
• Experience with fixed asset subledger systems, complex data center buildouts, or hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
• SQL proficiency and knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure cost structures.
• Big Four accounting or advisory experience combined with industry experience.
• Experience using AI tooling, including Claude, for accounting processes, memo drafting, or close automation.
