Child and Family Services Reviewers (CFSR)

Location: Nationwide remote office in the United States; requires travel for week-long onsite reviews. Office location listed as Reston, Virginia, United States.

Salary: $81,499–$138,549 annually based on full-time employment.

What you will do

• Conduct Child and Family Services Reviews for the Children’s Bureau.
• Review child welfare case records and interview case participants independently or with state reviewers.
• Apply the Onsite Review Instrument and instructions to complete case reviews.
• Use professional judgment to make case rating decisions based on review guidance and regulations.
• Participate in onsite review meetings and help compile team findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public administration, counseling, or a closely related field.
• Experience in CFSR-related child welfare programs, including work in a federal, state, or local public child welfare program.
• At least five years of direct field experience and/or supervisory, administrative, or management experience in a public or private child welfare agency.
• At least five years of assessment experience gathering information from interviews and documents, compiling evidence, and making professional judgments.
• Ability to travel for week-long onsite reviews.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in social work, human services, counseling, public administration, or a closely related field.
• Experience with CFSR state teams, quality assurance, performance reviews, or continuous quality improvement processes.
• Experience applying the Onsite Review Instrument and Instructions, developing or implementing Performance Improvement Plans, or working in a federal contracting environment.
• Experience in a state Court Improvement Project or juvenile or family court dealing with child welfare cases.
