IT Support Technician (Defence)

What you will do

• Provide first-line and basic second-line IT support across the organisation.
• Administer user accounts, handle password resets and access requests, and support Microsoft 365.
• Set up new devices and troubleshoot PCs, laptops, software, printers, peripherals, and basic network issues.
• Keep support tickets, IT records, and documentation up to date.
• Follow IT procedures, security requirements, and company policies while assisting with day-to-day IT tasks and projects.
• Escalate complex issues to the Senior IT Engineer and ensure user issues are followed through.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and common business software.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 and user accounts.
• Ability to troubleshoot common hardware, software, and network issues.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach to helping users.
• Willingness to learn new systems and develop further IT skills.
• Successful candidates will undergo workforce screening, which may include security checks, National Security Vetting, reference checks, working-rights verification, and a security interview.

Nice to have

• Awareness of UK export control, health and safety, and environmental management compliance.
• Experience in the defence industry or with the UK Ministry of Defence.
