Sr. Actuarial Manager (Workers Compensation)

Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States. US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $141,640–$194,755 annual base salary with a 30% incentive.

What you will do

• Lead actuarial strategy and analysis for the Workers Compensation segment.
• Develop pricing analyses, rate indications, portfolio monitoring tools, and profitability assessments.
• Monitor loss trends, claim development, portfolio results, and underwriting performance.
• Partner with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and executive leadership on business planning, forecasting, reinsurance evaluations, and strategic decisions.
• Communicate complex actuarial findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage, mentor, and develop actuarial staff while leading cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• ACAS certification required; FCAS preferred.
• 8–10 years of actuarial experience with strong Workers Compensation exposure.
• Experience in Workers Compensation pricing, reserving, or portfolio management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience partnering with Underwriting, Claims, and Finance leaders to influence business strategy.
