Location: US – California – Menlo Park; 100% onsite. Candidates must have current authorization to work in the United States without present or future sponsorship.

Salary: $97,400–$168,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design and execute studies to improve the robustness of recombinant protein manufacturing processes.
• Produce proteins and manufacture reagents according to product specifications and production schedules.
• Develop, document, and transfer new manufacturing processes into production.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective solutions.
• Maintain, qualify, and validate equipment while performing quality control testing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on production builds, inventory management, and materials ordering.

Requirements

• Minimum MSc in Biochemistry, Protein Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in the life sciences industry, including at least 3 years in recombinant protein production.
• Experience with affinity chromatography, IEX, HIC, SEC, and automated chromatography systems such as AKTA.
• Experience with HPLC, enzyme kinetics, protein quantification, spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE, formulation, and filtration techniques such as TFF.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Current US work authorization without present or future visa sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with PLM and ERP systems.
• Experience in ISO 9001- and ISO 13485-regulated environments.
• Knowledge of next-generation sequencing.
• Experience producing DNA polymerases.
