Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Salary: $202,500–$274,000 annual base pay, with potential bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Drive significant technology initiatives across multiple architectural layers.
• Architect and develop scalable, secure, maintainable applications and systems.
• Establish best practices for application, platform, and developer-tool development.
• Identify opportunities to enhance applications with AI and launch AI integrations in production.
• Evaluate AI performance and user satisfaction using appropriate metrics.
• Collaborate with global cross-functional teams and coach junior engineers.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience delivering enterprise-class applications.
• Proficiency in Java and strong knowledge of algorithms, design patterns, and scalable application development.
• Experience with test automation, including TDD and unit, integration, and functional testing.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, relational database design, analytics, microservices, containers, Kubernetes or Mesos, and cloud environments.
• Experience building or integrating AI models using techniques such as LLM prompting or AutoML, including production monitoring and optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, web, and mobile design constraints.
• Interest in building CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in utility computing or cloud computing domains.
