Automation Engineer V (AI Automation)

Location: United States

Base pay: $126,000–$201,600 annually in Colorado; $126,000–$222,800 annually in Washington; $126,000–$244,000 annually in California; $139,200–$244,000 annually in New York City. The role is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Own the enterprise AI automation strategy and establish n8n as a core orchestration platform.
• Architect secure, scalable, fault-tolerant workflows using n8n, Boomi, APIs, event-driven systems, and AI agents.
• Define development environments, CI/CD pipelines, reusable templates, governance models, and quality gates for automation and AI workflows.
• Implement workflow logging, monitoring, anomaly detection, intelligent alerting, and reliability guardrails.
• Lead architecture reviews, technical design sessions, workflow reviews, and post-incident reviews.
• Mentor engineers and contractors while driving adoption of responsible AI automation across the organization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise automation, workflow engineering, integration engineering, or platform architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on expertise with n8n or Boomi, including AI-enabled workflows, agents, and business automations.
• Experience with API-first and event-driven architectures, REST, webhooks, OAuth, JWT, API security, and AI/ML service integrations.
• Experience with CI/CD, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and scalable model integration patterns.
• Knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, AI agents, observability, monitoring, latency, cost, accuracy, and model drift.
