Salary: $132,500–$196,140 per year base pay

What you will do
- Evaluate and define firmware feature requirements for data center interconnect products.
- Design, implement, optimize, and reuse embedded firmware features across products.
- Develop device drivers, peripherals, applications, and APIs for high-speed coherent optical transceivers.
- Perform failure analysis by reproducing issues, debugging real hardware, and implementing fixes.
- Collaborate with application, project management, DVT, hardware, and architecture teams on requirements, performance, schematics, and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in memory-constrained embedded systems and 5+ years of firmware development for device drivers and peripherals such as I2C, I3C, and SPI.
- Strong programming skills in C and Python, with strong understanding and experience with RTOS.
- Knowledge of embedded SoC and microcontroller architecture, memory-mapped hardware interfaces, GPIOs, and ISRs.
- Experience reading hardware schematics, using laboratory equipment, and debugging with tools such as JTAG.
- Applicants must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled technology; an export license review may be required before employment.
Nice to have
- Experience with optical transceivers, coherent DSP, lasers, optical components, and PID control.
- Experience developing or debugging Linux device drivers, software state machines, context saving, and error handling.
- Knowledge of OIF CMIS, OSFP, SFP, optics, Git, Makefile, GDB, IDEs, and Bash.
- Understanding of signal processing concepts including BER, SNR, sampling phase, FFT, and frequency response.
