Senior Engineer, Embedded Software (C/C++)

Location: Valencia, California, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days on-site

Salary: $100,320–$125,400 per year, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Develop firmware for implantable hearing solutions and cochlear implant systems.
• Design and support Class III medical device technologies involving custom components and regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to digital signal processing, custom component design, and verification of inductively powered systems.
• Define product requirements and specifications with Marketing, Project Management, and R&D teams.
• Drive system-level tradeoff analysis and conduct feasibility studies for components, algorithms, and technical solutions.
• Support platform architecture, system integration, troubleshooting, verification, testing, and regulatory documentation.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; PhD preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in firmware design, implementation, and testing.
• Strong expertise in embedded systems, DSP, RF, circuits, or custom IC technologies.
• Experience programming in C, C++, and Python, with protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART.
• Experience with Class III medical devices, IEC60601, EN45502, FDA requirements, and CE submission requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; hybrid employees require internet connectivity of at least 200 Mb/sec download and 10 Mb/sec upload.

Nice to have

• Experience with MATLAB, SPICE, VHDL, C#, or similar engineering tools.
• PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
