Transportation Engineer

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; hybrid work between office and field environments

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year, dependent on experience

What you will do

• Model and analyze transportation systems, traffic operations, and traffic data.
• Support traffic and intelligent transportation systems design packages.
• Prepare CADD designs, plan production materials, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform engineering calculations, technical analyses, traffic safety analysis, and traffic studies.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation while following quality control procedures.
• Collaborate with project teams under the direction and mentorship of a licensed Professional Engineer.

Requirements

• 0–4+ years of transportation engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training certification or the ability to obtain it shortly after hire.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid office and field environment in Denver.
• Ability to complete applicable pre-employment substance screening and background checks.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Synchro, Vissim, or similar traffic analysis and modeling tools.
• Exposure to ITS and traffic signal design.
• Working knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD.
• Interest in connected and automated vehicle technologies.
• Exposure to data analytics software and methodologies.
