Dynamics Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States

Base salary: $110,000–$140,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own subsystem-level dynamic testing, including planning, coordination, analysis, and model correlation.
• Derive loads and environments for satellite transportation, launch, deployment, and on-orbit operation.
• Develop physics models using finite element analysis and custom software.
• Create data-processing tools and simulation frameworks for frequency- and time-domain analyses.
• Collaborate with design engineers, analysts, and external customers to develop satellite products.
• Provide data-driven engineering guidance and document test and simulation results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in dynamics through industry, research, internships, or academic projects.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR regulations or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export-control license.
• Ability to solve complex problems with limited supervision and communicate analysis and test insights clearly.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics.
• Experience with vibration, shock, modal testing, measurements, and low- and high-frequency dynamics.
• Experience with FEMAP, Nastran, Python, digital signal processing, statistics, or structural mechanics.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment.
